Vocal and instrumental ensemble “Kadilo” based out of Serbian Orthodox Church St. Simeon in Charlotte, North Caroline was founded with a goal in mind of performing spiritual songs and old Serbian music in a modernized sound, as well as save and preserve Serbian spiritual and cultural tradition to those living abroad.
The Hellenic Dance Program consists of 3 groups: The Little Aegeans (K-4th grade), the Aegean Dancers (5th-8th grades), and the Hellenic Dance Troupe (9th-12th grade/young adults). This ministry has been in existence since the beginning of Holy Trinity in Orlando. Throughout the years, the main purpose has always been to preserve the tradition of Greek folk dancing in America . The dance groups meet weekly to practice dances from the various regions of Greece . Our repertoire includes over 30 dances. Come and experience the excitement and fun of Greek dancing as these talented groups perform throughout the Greek Fest Weekend. There will be many opportunities for you to join them or watch as they... dance the night (and day) away!
Formed by a group of young people from the former Yugoslavia, Srpska Kruna Folk Dance Ensemble came to life in 1999 as part of St. Petka Serbian Orthodox Church in Longwood, Florida. These dancers came together with the desire to learn and display their culture and tradition of the "old country" through ethnic dances of the former Yugoslavia. The group is under the direction of choreographers, Tomislav Jovanovic and Vedrana Blagojevic of Winter Springs, Florida.
"Srpska Kruna" translated into English is the "Serbian Crown", a symbol of the pride, tradition, and culture of the Serbian people. Srpska Kruna's repertoire includes an array of approximately 25 dances originating from two different regions of the Serbia.
In 2004, Miroslav Marcetic established his own school of dance, “Academy of Serbian Folk Dancing” which includes more than 300 dancers of all ages, and a folk band instructed and directed by Mica Petrovic, a music coach par excellence, whose last forty years of his adult life have been dedicated to publicizing and promoting Serbian folk music.
The bookstore provides a great assortments of Christian Literature, and worship materials (Icons in different shapes and sizes, Virgin Lamps, Censers made out of Ceramic and other materials, prayer bracelets in different colors, crosses, key chains, flags, etc...). As you read through our best selling collection, you will find great choices in Bibles, books, liturgical music and more.
